PARK DAY

Park Day is a weekly social event for families with children of all ages. We meet at various parks in San Mateo County, rain or shine.  If you would like to attend a Park Day, please contact us for more info.

WELCOME HOMESCHOOLERS MESSAGE BOARD

Our main form of communication is a message board / email list hosted by BigTent. In order to access it you must be a member in good standing, namely: a current membership form must be on file and annual dues must be paid. Park Day locations, field trips and other activities are often posted to the group as well as discussions about homeschooling.

YOUNGER YEARS

This is a Welcome Homeschoolers sub-group designed to facilitate access and communication among families with very young (pre-K and K aged) children; it's a great place to "meet" others with young children, suggest outings, plan co-ops, playdates, etc. Younger Years is open to all WHS members.

PLANNING AND MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS

Regularly scheduled meetings take place in June as mandated by the bylaws, usually at the same time and location as the Pizza and Game Night. Meetings are open to all members, whose input and ideas for the upcoming year are strongly encouraged.

PIZZA & GAME NIGHT

A monthly event especially of interest to families with older homeschooling children, Game Night takes place in the reserved room of a local pizza parlor,  usually on a Wednesday or Thursday, 7:00 - 9:00.  Parents and children gather for pizza, card and board games.   Please email Mary for more info.

ROSTER

We have a private roster with members' names, email addresses and phone numbers. The roster is accessible online at our private WHS BigTent site and is not distributed outside the group. The roster is available only to members in good standing, namely: a current membership form must be on file and annual dues must be paid.

FIELD TRIPS AND SMALL GROUP ACTIVITIES

WHS uses membership dues to subsidize seasonal events such as a Summer Pool Party, a Winter Potluck, and an annual field trip to Arata's Pumpkin Farm; when available, WHS funds can also used to subsidize other events and activities planned by members for the benefit of the group.
